Broadwater is a private river escape that nestles on the banks of the Vaal River near Kimberley and Douglas. In this pristine aquatic environment you find space for the solitary and activity for the energetic.
Enjoy the river and relax in style amongst a pristine aquatic environment. Listen in awe to the magical call of the fish eagle or watch just metres away from you, the kingfisher swoop down to the river to catch its meal. Experience the healing peacefulness that fills all creatures as nightfall descends on the glassy waters of the Vaal River.
Accommodation
We offer stylish and comfortable 4-star accommodation for up to 50 guests. Ten luxurious air-conditioned units with a river view are furnished with a TV, fridge and coffee/tea facilities. All rooms are en-suite.
The apartments and chalets are equipped with kitchenettes and braai-facilities on the patio for self-catering. Bedding and towels are supplied in all units.
Camping
Each camping site has its private bathroom (bath and shower). There is a scullery and a power point. Most sites have a river view and are shaded.
Houseboat
Broadwater also harbours the DaRiva Houseboat - the idyllic place to relax with comfortable accommodation and a fully equipped kitchen (fridge, freezer, stove, hot water). The spacious top deck has barbeque facilities and a skipper at your service.
Breakfast and Dining
Breakfast and meals are served in Die Pont Restaurant - experience more than delicious food; experience nature at it’s best.
Conferences
Our beautiful conference venue is designed to cater for all special expectations. The venue is small enough to feel personal but big enough to satisfy all your needs. Broadwater conference venues caters from the smaller Executive group of five people up to 40 delegates, always ensuring the same quality service. Equipment includes data projector, white board and flip chart. Menus are flexible to suit your specific need and budget.
The venue is situated on the same property as 4-star accommodation for 40 people, as well as Die Pont River Restaurant. 80 kilometres from Kimberley Airport, together with the flexibility of our facilities make Broadwater equally suitable for day conferences, meetings, product launches, breakfast presentations, company breakaways, strategizing meetings, team-building and workshops alike.

Have your river wedding at Broadwater where we are blessed with the pristine Vaal River and a wide variety wedding options. Whether it is just the two of you celebrating your union or a group of family and friends up to 120 guests, our venues offer you the very best locations for an intimate wedding. Your options are our river view glass room, a open air restaurant or a white wedding tent on the banks of the Vaal River.

There are a variety of photographic options, the favourite one being against the beautiful coloured sunset over the river!
Activities and Attractions
We have over 30km of fishing waters with diverse bird life. If you are lucky, you may even spot the Vaal River’s own Big Five: the Otter, African Fish Eagle, Giant Kingfisher, Goliath Heron and Iguana.

• Overnight or weekend cruises with full accommodation for 10 guests
Have endless fun with water sports and activities of all kinds. For the water sport enthusiast there are activities such as water skiing, wake boarding, knee boarding and water tubing on request. Booking is essential. We provide the boat, skipper and all the equipment. White water rafting can also be arranged. There is a river pool, trampoline and pedal boats for children.
Douglas is one of the country’s primary freshwater fishing areas with seven of the most important freshwater fish species occurring here. Fishing Guide on request.
