DESCRIPTION:
Desert Rose is an up-market Guest House, situated in the heart of Namaqualand, Springbok, offering superb B&B and self catering accommodation at reasonable rates.
Spectacular views of surrounding granite "koppies" and the picturesque town are visible from your room. The guest house was built by the owners Piet and Maralynn van Zyl in 2004, who took the necessary steps to ensure that the guests have all amenities.
Situated in a quiet residential area, Desert Rose is a very central place to stay during the flower season; July to September. We are also within walking distance to restaurants, shops and banks. Enjoy a braai (BBQ) in our lapa, and gaze at the cloudless heaven.
Accommodation
Bed & Breakfast
All rooms are spacious and have air conditioners, M-Net, en suite bathrooms, private entrances, secure parking, fridges and tea / coffee making facilities.
Self Catering
The self catering units can sleep four adults in two separate rooms and have a fully equipped kitchenette, as well as an under roof braai (BBQ) on the stoep, laundry service and are wheelchair friendly.
Breakfast
Breakfast is served in the dining room in the main house. This can be a wholesome full farmhouse breakfast with fresh fruit from the garden and a different menu is served every day. A packed / take away breakfast, continental breakfast, and vegetarian breakfasts are catered for.
Location & Attractions
We are ideally situated en route from Windhoek to Cape Town, making it an ideal stop over. You can plan ahead and include a tour to the Richtersveld (mountain desert), or river rafting on the Orange River which is only 140km away. A tour to a diamond or copper mine can also be arranged, as can 4 x 4 trails, shipwreck visits and a trip to the museum in Nababeep.
The mission station in Pella, Augrabies Waterfalls, Fish River Canyon and the west coast town of Port Nolloth, with the small holiday resort Mc Dougalls Bay just next door are all a short drive away.
Activities
Golf (three km), squash, hiking, horse riding, mountain bike trails, bird watching, 4 x 4 trails, unique flora and a landing strip for small aircraft. |
