DESCRIPTION:
Honeylocust is a modern, luxury guesthouse in the historic town of Colesberg in the Upper-Karoo. Perfectly situated just off the N1 highway, it’s the ideal halfway break on a long journey between the North and the South.
Honeylocust guesthouse was established in September 2009. The contemporary design rooms are spacious and equipped with DSTV, plasma TV’s, air-conditioners (must for the Karoo) and a fridge / freezer. Each of our suites leads out onto its own private, furnished patio with views over the garden; the perfect setting to relax after a long journey. A special feature in the garden is the wooden deck underneath the majestic Honeylocust tree.
Safe under roof parking is provided for all guests.
Accommodation
Relax and refresh in one of our six beautifully decorated private rooms catering for discerning travellers, business executives or families alike. Choose from our six rooms, each uniquely different and each decorated in an elegant, modern style with colours that match the subtle hues of the Karoo landscape.
Sandpiper Room
This room has a queen double bed with en-suite bathroom (shower only). This room can be connected with the Guinea-fowl room and is then ideal for a family of four. Guests can enjoy the fresh Karoo air on their private patio under the shade of the large umbrella.
Kingfisher Room
This spacious room has a queen double bed and a sleeping couch (sleeps 2). The old ceiling of the room has been renovated to its former glory and admired by all. The en-suite bathroom (shower only) is spacious and the slate tiles (floor and shower) are for most guests the special feature in this room.
Red Bishop Room
This room has a queen double bed with en-suite bathroom. The spacious bathroom is equipped with a large shower. The Red Bishop room is situated next to the big Honeylocust tree; the ideal setting to enjoy the summer in the shade of the branches.
Blue Crane Room
This spacious room has a queen double bed with a large en-suite bathroom (bath and shower). The room and bathroom have beautiful ceilings which have been restored to their past glory. This room has a great view on the garden.
Guinea-fowl Room
This room has two single beds with en-suite bathroom (shower only). The room is spacious and has a great view on the garden. This room can be connected with the Sandpiper room and is ideal for families of four.
Sunbird Room
This huge room is ideal for families and has a queen double bed, two single beds and en-suite bathroom (bath and shower). It has a huge patio, a great view on the garden and a very private setting.
Breakfast
All our rooms have coffee and tea facilities (rusks provided). We also offer a light continental breakfast for an additional cost. For guests who prefer a more substantial breakfast; a few coffee shops and restaurants are nearby as well as a few fast food franchises like Wimpy and Steers.
A few popular restaurants, coffee shops, supermarkets and museum are within walking distance from our location. |
