DESCRIPTION:
Ou Skool Guest House was renovated in 2008, from a block of flats which used to be an old primary school and closed down in the early seventies due to a lack of children and funding.
Ou Skool Guesthouse is a convenient stop over or holiday base for tourists, nature lovers, businessmen and travellers alike on the route to the Kalahari, Augrabies Falls, Riemvasmaak, Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park and the West Coast.
Set amongst luscious vineyards in the heart of the Northern Cape, our stylish decorated establishment guarantees a comfortable stay. Ou Skool Guest House is situated just 5km outside of Keimoes en route to Kenhardt.
Accommodation
We offer a range of accommodation that includes a choice of 10 bedrooms, and camping site with private ablution facilities.
The rooms are equipped with individually remote controlled air-conditioning, TV with eight channels, en suite bath or shower and coffee/tea facilities and a bar fridge.
Camping
Camping with private bath and shower facilities are available on the premises. We have four sites each fitted with its own electric point.
A farm stall with local produce, coffee shop, second hand book shop, bar, function and wedding venue are also available on the premises.
Dining
Full English breakfast (cereal, yogurt, fruit, two rashers of bacon, two sausages, two eggs, toast and coffee / tea / juice) or continental breakfast (toast and coffee / tea / juice). Dinner available on request and need to be booked prior to arrival you have a choice between a one course or a two course meal.
Weddings & Events
Your special event can be one to be treasured if you leave the planning and detail to us. With an ideal venue for your special event we will assist you in co-ordinating the entire event in order to take all the pressure off you and accommodate your guests at the same time. We will custom cater according to your specific requirements including fine confectionery and wedding cakes. Provide tables, chairs and decor for the mood and theme, provide a marquee should you require perhaps a freeform or a large marquee for a large function, Provide full bar facilites, Assist in providing brides with beauty and massage prior to the big day, Assist in providing the bride with a makeup artist, Wedding photographer and videographer.
Conferences
Ou Skool Guest House offers a professional, fully air conditioned conference venue which seats up to 35 delegates in absolute comfort. Bring us your conference and you are assured of a successful presentation or business meeting where all your needs will be catered for. Services include the provision of standard conference equipment and amenities.
Additional Facilities & Activities
Bar
We have a fully licensed bar on the premises, for the thirsty traveller that needs a little refreshment after a long drive.
Coffee shop
We mainly focus on quick meals or snacks e.g. toasted sandwiches, muffins and scones. Please ask at Reception for a copy of our menu.
Farm stall
We have a lot of local produce (which can make a perfect gift) and sweeties for the sweet-tooth, as well as other niceties.
Star gazing
Due to its ideal location Ou Skool Guest House is a star gazer’s paradise. We have a telescope on site for your use when visiting.
Smoking
Our rooms are all none smoking but we have tables outside where you are more than welcome to sit and enjoy your cigarette.
Animals
We have a cat called "Juffrou" and a sausage dog called "Professor". Small animals are allowed by prior arrangement. Guide dogs welcome. |
